The Initial Brief

To reposition Alnwick Castle as a sustainable, commercially viable visitor attraction, within a Grade 1 listed family home.

Key Tasks

Initially we prepared a  master plan and 10 year business plan for the castle. Over the next two years we brought together and managed a multi-disciplinary team to deliver:- 

• a new visitor reception, shop, café, kiosk  and restaurant
• new exhibitions and attractions
• a new brand identity, web site and market positioning

The Result

Alnwick Castle won the award for best large visitor attraction in the national Enjoy England Awards for Excellence, the tourism industry’s equivalent of the Oscars.
